International Festival of Language and Culture
partnered with Turkic American Alliance to host the 13th Annual International Festival of Language and Culture.
100 students from 20 countries showcased their cultures through songs and dances at the Warner Theatre on April 28,
2015. Students also performed at the Ellipse Park and Cannon Caucus Room in US Capitol, which was attended by a number
of US Representatives.

of Islamic and Turkish Studies and Masjid Muhammad jointly organized a panel discussing the prevention of radicalization. Gail
Humbleton, Imam Talib Shareef and Rabbi Gerald Serotta addressed the role that community and faith leaders play in addressing
the challenge of radicalization.
Youth Platform 2015
Organized in partnership with
Rumi Forum, Gulen Institute Youth Platform 2015 winners visited Washington, DC for the award
ceremony on April 14, 2015.This year's topic was: “Are Citizens of the World Succeeding in Lessening Global Poverty?”
Over 1000 essays from 65 countries and 35 states were submitted for the contest.
Dinner and Discussion Series with CUA
continued their monthly dinner and discussion series with the Catholic University of America.
The topics of "patience", "compassion" and "dialogue" were discussed in March, April and May meetings.

Rumi Forum President Meets with Buddhist Leader Drupka
Emre Celik was invited to
discussion with the prominent Buddhist Leader Gyalwang Drupka in April at the Hudson Institute by Pakistan's
former Ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani. Gyalwang Drupka is an active environmentalist, educator and the spiritual
head of the Drukpa Lineage, one of the main Buddhist schools of the Himalayas.

(Aspiring Change Together) Dinner on April 20.
This fundraising dinner was a collaborative and community-engaged initiative to benefit the Glenwood Branch Library in Greensboro.
Habitat for Humanity
of Wake County
Members of the Rumi Forum North Carolina Chapter volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of
Wake County and helped them in framing construction work at the Augusta Crossings, Raleigh construction site.
Each Habitat home is built in partnership with homeowner families, sponsors, and volunteers.
Festival to build three water wells in Africa
Hundreds of people showed up for a food Festival organized by the Rumi Forum North Carolina and IITS to
raise funds for building clean water wells in Africa.
