SUMMARY:Interreligious Communities Project: Site Visit to Burke Presbyterian Church
DESCRIPTION:Rumi Forum and Sharing Sacred Spaces visited Burke Presbyterian Church in Burke\, VA\, on Thursday\, November 16\, 2023. This was an interfaith visit with representatives from at least six different religions present to explore the sacred space with the congregation at Burke Presbyterian Church. \nThis visit was run by Sharing Sacred Spaces and is part of the Interreligious Communities Project in Northern Virginia. There will be 7 “experiences\,” not just visits.  We go deep into the architectural design of each space\, which opens up new avenues for connecting the material and the spiritual.  Members of each congregation will also share their worldview\, spiritual journeys\, and history. We then share a meal and dialogue. \nAbout the event: \nThis was an interfaith visit with representatives from at least six different religions present to explore the sacred space of this Catholic Church.  This visit was run by Sharing Sacred Spaces and is part of the Interreligious Communities Project in Northern Virginia.  There will be seven visits to different sacred spaces as part of this program.  There will be 7 “experiences\,” not just visits.  We go deep into the architectural design of each space\, which opens up new avenues for connecting the material and the spiritual.  Members of each congregation will also share their worldview\, spiritual journeys\, and history.  We then share a meal and dialogue.
