Some Quotes from luncheon guest speakers
Akbar Ahmed
"One
of the things that inspired
us, and a lot of Americans
will benefit from this
knowledge, was the attitude
of the founding fathers to
other religions to the
notion of religious
pluralism which is what
America is all about. This
is
what makes America.
This genuine sense of
religious pluralism."
Graham Fuller
"The
book is not saying that if there had never been an Islam,
the world would be the same, I am not saying that. I am
saying that if there had never been an Islam or never been a
Prophet Muhammad, the relationship between the West and
particularly the United States and the Middle East would
perhaps not be significantly different".
Robert G. Sutter
"Many
think that there is a power
shift in Asia, a power shift
where China is the rising
power and is becoming the
leading power. And the US
used to be the leading power
in Asia according to this
view and now it is in
decline. And so I want to
see if that is really taking
place."
