Black History Month In appreciation of Black History Month, Rumi Forum partnered with ATFA (American Turkish Friendship Association) for an evening program highlighting the significance of the history of African Americans in the United States and in remembrance of Martin Luther King, Jr.. Former President of the NAACP, Current President of Communities of Trust Committee Shirley Ginwright spoke at the event.

Understanding Religious Diversity and Tolerance On February 24th, President of the Rumi Forum Mr. Emre Celik spoke at Piedmont Virginia Community College as part of their educational seminar entitled:"Understanding Religious Diversity and Tolerance". Mr Celik spoke from a Muslim perspective about common misconceptions about Islam in order to promote tolerance, coexistence and religious diversity within the community.
