Monday, February 27th Rumi Forum hosted an interfaith music event. This was an open and inviting event meant to bring together people of diverse beliefs and backgrounds to express faith through music.

In appreciation of Black History Month, Rumi Forum partnered with ATFA (American Turkish Friendship Association) for an evening program highlighting the significance of the history of African Americans in the United States and in remembrance of Martin Luther King, Jr.. Former President of the NAACP, Current President of Communities of Trust Committee Shirley Ginwright spoke at the event.

On February 24th, President of the Rumi Forum Mr. Emre Celik spoke at Piedmont Virginia Community College as part of their educational seminar entitled:"Understanding Religious Diversity and Tolerance". Mr Celik spoke from a Muslim perspective about common misconceptions about Islam in order to promote tolerance, coexistence and religious diversity within the community.

On February 19th Rumi Forum partnered with ATFA for a fundraiser breakfast to benefit the Communities of Trust and The Lamb Center in Fairfax.

The Rumi Forum has organized four fellowship opportunities to Thailand-Cambodia, Morocco, Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan, and Brazil for the spring of 2017. Currently applications are still open for Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan and Brazil.
