On May 1, 2019, Rumi Forum held an event about the diversity of the Muslim American community and their various situations.
Rumi Forum hosted numerous home Iftars in Northern Virginia throughout Ramadan.
The Fairfax Interfaith Friendship Walk 2019 was held on April 28th, 2019 with the mission of bringing faith communities together to appreciate each other and feel part of the same whole despite our differences.
On April 7, 2019, Rumi Forum and Little River United Church of Christ hosted an interfaith group for the film screening of “The Sultan and the Saint” followed by a discussion.
On April 4, 2019, Rumi Forum and ATFA hosted Henry Brinton to talk about his new book “City of Peace”.
On April 1st, Rumi Forum organized a book event for Anwar Alam’s new book titled For the Sake of Allah at Ezher Mosque.
On March 31st, Rumi Forum organized the Food and Faith Event at Sakina Halal Grill. Food and Faith both bring people together.
On May 1, 2019, Rumi Forum of Maryland, Prince George’s County Human Relations Commission, and Prince George’s County Memorial Library System held a panel discussion on Building Justice in our Communities while “Uniting Against Hate”.
In this first critical biography of Fethullah Gulen in English, historian Jon Pahl takes us on a journey where we discover wisdom and controversy, from 1940’s Turkey to the U.S. in the twenty-first century. Pahl tells the story of a pious Muslim boy from a tiny and remote Turkish village who on the one hand has inspired a global movement of millions of individuals dedicated to literacy, social enterprise, and interreligious dialogue, but who on the other hand has been monitored by Turkish police, seen as a threat by autocrats, and recently declared number one enemy by the current Turkish dictator.
