Our statement on the attacks on the Jewish Cemetery in Philadelphia and the shooting of 2 Indian engineers in Kansas.

We at the Rumi Forum join our fellow Americans in condemning the attacks made on Jewish graves in Philadelphia’s Mount Carmel Cemetery and the tragic shooting in Olathe, Kansas resulting in the death of an Indian citizen and injury to an Indian and an American. The United States is a nation of immigrants, embracing people from all races, ethnicities, and religions. Therefore, acts of such violence for the purpose of instilling anxiety and fear into our communities is an attack against core American values.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Kuchibhotla and wish those injured a full and speedy recovery. We share in the grief of those families who’s loved one’s last resting place was defaced and toppled. During such difficult times, it is important to stand in solidarity with one another and remember that one evil act does not divide a united community.
