The Rumi Forum condemns the horrendous terrorist attack at the Coptic cathedral in Cairo on Sunday that killed 25 people and injured 49, most of whom were women and children.

These attacks are a crime against humanity and on the sanctity of life. They should be condemned in the strongest terms and deemed unjustifiable regardless of their stated purposes. We should stand in solidarity against such nefarious acts of violence that inflict harm upon innocent people. We urge the international organizations to unite in the fight against terrorism and to cooperate actively to eliminate the growing threat of terrorism.

Fethullah Gulen, Honorary Chairman of the Rumi Forum, is deeply saddened with the news of the attack and expresses his condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of Egypt. He wishes for quick recovery of those who were wounded. He prays that God gives them patience and perseverance through this tragic moment.
