The Rumi Forum since its inception in 1999, founded on the principle of greater intercultural and interfaith understanding has played host to numerous grass roots activities from community centers to family homes as well as important intellectual engagement covering themes of peace building and conflict resolution, social harmony, pluralism and overcoming prejudice amongst numerous others.
We have grown from a small office on M street to over a dozen chapters in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, West Virginia and Kentucky. We’ve played an important part in educating communities and crucial engagement with think-tanks, universities, Government agencies, religious organizations and numerous civil society organizations. Some of our recent activities include a Blanket drive for Syrian refugees, ‘panel on community and faith leaders’ role in countering radicalization, and ‘International Festival of Language and Culture. Our Ramadan dinners (more than 50 this year) were featured in the Washington Post and Washington Times.
To help continue such positive action in 2016, we look forward to your support. Kindly review our activities here and our recent newsletters. The Rumi Forum is a non-profit tax exempt organization under section 501 (C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code .
We wish you a safe, happy and prosperous 2016!
