Organized in partnership with Rumi Forum, Gulen Institute Youth Platform 2015 winners visited Washington, DC for the award ceremony on April 14, 2015.

Gulen Institute at the University of Houston annually organizes  the Youth Platform, an international essay contest, in partnership with the Rumi Forum. This year’s topic was:  “Are Citizens of the World Succeeding in Lessening Global Poverty?” Over 1000 essays from 65 countries and 35 states were submitted for the contest. There are 30 winners from 12 different countries. First place winner is Min Byung Chae from South Korea. Second place winner is Kuangning Ge from Singapore and the third place winner is Sung Yeon Kim from Canada. The winners were awarded a 3 day trip to Washington DC. Their visit included  Georgetown University and US Capitol. They were also hosted by families in Northern Virginia for dinner.
