The Rumi Forum organized several Ramadan Iftar Dinners this past Ramadan season. These dinner’s have already become a tradition of gathering many guests from various parts of the community. Those that participated, represent academics and community leaders, ambassadors and government officials, as well as members of the media, all of them came to rejoice and share in the fruits of dialogue.
Dr. Ori Soltes of Georgetown University, former Ambassador Edward Peck, Dr. Pim Valkenberg of Loyola University of Maryland, and His Excellency Wegger Chr. Strommen, Ambassador of Norway to the United States, all participated in and addressed the guests at their respective dinners, emphasizing the significance of dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding.
After the Iftar meal, guests enjoyed Turkish coffee, traditional Turkish apple tea, Turkish delight and baklava, and a presentation of Ebru, the art of water marbling.
