The communities of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and the Rumi Forum came together for an Iftar dinner and an evening of interfaith dialogue at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Arlington, VA.

Volunteers of the Rumi Forum cooked a wonderful Turkish meal for the Iftar dinner. After the dinner and conversation, Tuba Alpat of the Rumi Forum spoke about the Islamic faith and the importance of the month of Ramadan to Muslims.

The Rev. Andrew T.P. Merrow and the Rev. Jennifer Strawbridge also spoke about the similarities between the religions of Christianity and Islam and about the importance of fasting in Christianity. After the lectures, both communities came together around the tables for dialogue. The Rumi Forum would like to thank the community of St. Mary’s Church for graciously hosting such a beautiful evening.
