The Rumi Forum and Fairlington Presbyterian Church of Alexandria joined together for an Interfaith Iftar dinner at Fairlington Presbyterian Church.
The evening began with the Islamic call to prayer and a Christian blessing. Both communities shared wonderful foods prepared by members of each community. A member from the Rumi Forum spoke about Ramadan and the merits of fasting for Muslims. Also, a member from Fairlington Presbyterian Church spoke about fasting in Christianity.
The Rumi Forum would like to thank the members of Fairlington Presbyterian Church for hosting this special event and we look forward to many future interfaith forums where our communities can come together.
