The 8-12 grade students from across the Albemarle Country and City of Charlottesville put their skills to the test at the Peace and Dialog Art Contest competition. The theme of this year contest was “Why College is Awesome?”

 

The main goal of the competition was to raise awareness about importance higher education. The winners of the art competition were recognized and awarded at the ceremony held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Omni Charlottesville Hotel. The winners received their awards from Supervisor Jane Dittmar, Chair of Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County. Below are the winners and their awards:

1st Place Winner: Min Su Kim, Jack Jouett Middle School, $250 (Nominating Teacher, Ms. Donna Evans)

2nd Place Winner: Margaret Lather, Buford Middle School, $150 (Nominating Teacher, Mr. Desmond Cormier)

3rd Place Winner: Peter Cagnina, Buford Middle School, $100 (Nominating Teacher, Mr. Desmond Cormier)

Nominating teachers also received $100.
