Ibrahim Anli is a civic entrepreneur and a researcher with a career record that bridges nonprofit and academic experience. Ibrahim was a visiting researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2007-08. He joined the Journalists and Writers Foundation’s (JWF) Ankara office as the diplomacy coordinator in 2010. In 2013, he became the secretary general of Abant Platform, JWF’s Istanbul based forum of intellectuals. He was a full-time lecturer and acting chair at the International Relations and Diplomacy Department of Tishk University in Erbil in 2016-17.

Ibrahim was a regular contributor to the online edition of English daily Today’s Zaman, writes opinions in his independent blog, and has published peer reviewed book chapters and articles. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Istanbul University, an M.A. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Sabanci University, and a certificate in Strategic Management for Leaders of NGOs from Harvard University.

Dr. Mehmet Saracoglu is a community organizer with academic experience, who brings passion and leadership together. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of Rumi Forum in Maryland and the Government, Media, and Community Affairs Director at the Rumi Forum in Washington, DC. He holds a B.S. from Istanbul Technical University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Kentucky (UK) in Mining Engineering. While in the UK, he was active in promoting interfaith dialogue and intercultural understanding through the Interfaith/Intercultural Dialogue Organization in Lexington and Turkish-American relations at the American Turkish Friendship Association of KY in Louisville.

He is an alumnus of Freedom of Religion or Belief (FORB) Learning Platform`s Training of the Trainers course, Religious Freedom Center`s Religious and Civic Leaders program at the Freedom Forum Institute, and Leadership Montgomery`s 2019 Class of Emerging Leaders. He is currently the co-advocacy officer on the Young Professionals Board of United Nations Association-National Capital Area and a member of the Public Diplomacy Council`s Citizen Diplomacy Research Group.

Kubra Unver, Program Director | k.unver@rumiforum.org

Kubra Unver is studying in the School Counseling Master’s program at George Washington University. She is also a mentor at CORE Education Services, where she provides character education to secondary and high school students. After volunteering at several events of Rumi Forum for three years, she has continued her volunteer participation at Rumi Forum as program director since 2019.

Over 20 years of living abroad, Kubra explores the cognitive and behavioral differences between the cultures of the young adult population. As she studies in this field, she is actively involved in organizing events that foster human rights, education, and intercultural and interfaith communication between communities.
